The former owner has denied receiving compensation in the Hyakujo Committee's witness examination to investigate the cause of the debris flow, and the committee is considering whether to file criminal charges on suspicion of false testimony.

According to the Hyakujo Committee, which was set up in the city council over the debris flow that occurred in Atami in July last year, the contractor who carried out the embankment work paid the owner of the land at that time a reward for accepting the construction surplus soil. testifying.



On the other hand, the former owner denied receiving it, stating, "I have not received it," in the witness interrogation of the committee held in May this year.



Interviews with people involved revealed that in an official document prepared by the prefecture in June 2011 regarding this embankment, the former owner acknowledged that the contractor had paid for the installation.



According to this official document, the contractor paid 30,000 yen to 100,000 yen to the former owner for about 6 months to 8 months after the construction started, and 300,000 yen was paid when it was high. It is stated that the former owner has signed a document stating that "it is true".



For these reasons, the 100 Articles Committee will consider whether to file criminal charges against the former owner on suspicion of false testimony.
