A game-based workshop was held in Nasu, Tochigi Prefecture, to learn how to operate a shelter in the event of a large-scale natural disaster such as an earthquake or flood.

The training session was held on the 29th at the "Nasu Machizukuri Hiroba", an exchange base in Nasu Town, before "Disaster Prevention Day" on the 1st of next month. I experienced the format.

It is assumed that tourists and foreigners will visit the elementary school that has been used as an evacuation center one after another, as a large earthquake of magnitude 8 occurs and power outages and water outages are widespread.

The participants allotted evacuation spaces to classrooms and gymnasiums while looking at the school building plans.

Of these, those who are suspected of having the flu should evacuate to the classroom by themselves so that the infection does not spread to other people, and families with the elderly or small children do not have to use the stairs. We decided to allocate rooms on the lower floors, etc., while consulting with each other.

A woman who participated said, "Foreseeing the arrival of various evacuees, I felt the importance of deciding roles in advance, such as receptionists and assignees."

Mr. Takaaki Kaburagi, who hosted the workshop, said, "I felt the importance of preparing for natural disasters by having discussions on a daily basis."
