After a robbery on his father, a six-year-old died in the Tiroler Ache in Austria.

As the State Criminal Police Office reported on Sunday, the investigators assume that the father was knocked unconscious from behind by an unknown person in the area of the promenade in St. Johann in Tirol.

The German was hit on the head by a beer bottle, according to the authorities.

After that, the health-impaired six-year-old apparently climbed out of the pram on his own and fell into the Ache, where he was aborted and could only be found dead around 600 meters downstream.

There is no evidence that the child was subjected to violence by the unknown perpetrator, LKA director Katja Tersch told the Austrian news agency APA.

The injured father was found by a passer-by.

His cellphone and wallet were stolen.
