Yslande Bossé and her sister Gileinne recently learned that their faces were used as a visual to promote the candidacy of Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis) as European Capital of Culture 2028. However, no request was sent to them.
“This image has been diverted […] it is not legal”, denounced Yslande Bossé, quoted by

The black and white photo showing the sisters in astronaut outfits on the rooftops of a night city has been used for months by those responsible for the Periféeries 2028 bid. The photo has appeared on flyers, mugs, postcards or even tarps.
It was taken in 2017 as part of an immigration history campaign.
The models have not been accessed for any other use.

The artist said he did not know that the photo would constitute the visual identity of the campaign.
"The call for projects was indeed about a logo, a graphic charter and derivative products", nevertheless assured Juliette Bompoint, president of Périféeries 2028.
