No respite for firefighters in the face of the fires.

The firefighters of the Alpes de Haute-Provence, supported by colleagues from the neighboring department of Var, have been fighting since Tuesday afternoon against a major fire outbreak in the town of Rougon.

No less than 100 hectares have already burned in this neighboring town of the famous Gorges du Verdon, whose attendance has already been impacted this summer by the lack of water.

Eighty-five firefighters are on site to try to curb this fire, supported in the early afternoon by a Dash.

“It is a fire of vegetation, which does not threaten the populations.

Dwellings have been treated preventively, but there is no longer any risk”, the firefighters of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence want to be reassuring.

They hope to quickly deal with this fire, now that it has plateaued and slowed its progress.
