Accidents are occurring one after another in the treatment of irradiating ultrasonic waves with a device called "HIFU" to remove slack and to obtain slimming effect, which is performed in esthetic salons.

The Consumer Affairs Agency's Safety Investigation Committee, the so-called Consumer Accident Investigation Committee, which has been investigating since last year, reported the interim results of the investigation on the 26th.



According to it, information on 110 accidents was received from November 2015 to the end of May, of which 76 cases occurred at beauty salons, of which



burns were 45 cases and

and 13 cases of "nerve / sensory disorders" such as residual burns.



In the surveys so far, the practitioner has not fully explained the contents and precautions of the treatment, and there are many cases where the user does not understand the risk, and there is a very strong irradiation ability, such as burns. It turns out that equipment that can cause burns is widely used in beauty salons.



In the future, the accident report will summarize whether or not regulations regarding the use of equipment are required by law, and will make recommendations for preventing recurrence within this fiscal year.
