An An, the giant panda of Ocean Park Hong Kong, died of euthanasia on the morning of July 21 after accompanying Hong Kong citizens for 23 years. He was 35 years old, equivalent to 105 human years.

Ocean Park Hong Kong stated that under the continuous high temperature weather in Hong Kong recently, An An's health has deteriorated and her appetite has decreased.

Started to stop eating solid food completely on July 17.

Ocean Park pointed out that An An, as the world's longest-lived captive male giant panda, has no effective treatment plan to help An An return to health, and decided to euthanize him in a humane way.

An An, a male giant panda born in 1986, and Jia Jia, a female giant panda born in 1978, arrived in Hong Kong together on March 11, 1999. They were gifts from the Central Government to Hong Kong to celebrate the second anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.

An An has accompanied Hong Kong citizens for 23 years.

As an indispensable member of the Ocean Park family, An An has been serving as a "conservation ambassador" since she settled in Hong Kong, and has also maintained a deep relationship between the mainland and Hong Kong people, as well as visitors from all over the world.

The reporter saw at the scene that some citizens laid flowers for An'an in Ocean Park, and some citizens left messages expressing their reluctance.
