Watch .. A camera escapes from melting in lava and records what happened with it “video”

Eric Storm, a tour group activist, shared what happened to him in Hawaii when he lost his professional camera in 2017 in an active lava vent, on YouTube.

Eric said he and his tour group, Kilaue Echo Guides, from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park were touring an active volcanic site when he lost his GoPro camera in a fissure that was slowly filling with lava.

Of course, Eric left the camera in his head, predicting that it would turn into junk. A small, delicate piece of technology would not be expected to survive the 1,000-degree Celsius heat of the lava flow.

But after some time after the lava had stopped flowing and had cooled to form the rock, Eric returned to the site trying to retrieve what was left of the camera, and to do so he used "the geologic rock hammer to pull it out of the lava," thinking "it would be a complete loss."

Eric is surprised by the surprise of his life when he discovers that the camera not only survived, but was able to record all of her "adventure", and is still working.

Eric then pulled out his SD card, which also survived. He shared the stunning footage on YouTube, which shows superheated lava intrusion between blocks of stones and boulders, while a camera very close to it is recording moment by moment.

According to the Indy 100 website.

The camera did some damage but still works, according to Eric: “The camera still works although it's not as good as it used to be.

She survived and that's really amazing!”
