Marco Buschmann can talk long and stately, like Bouffier, even at parties.

But the Federal Minister of Justice also masters the short, entertaining form.

The FDP politician has now commented on the public debate about the wedding of his friend Christian Lindner on Twitter.

"When two people get married," Buschmann begins, "that's something wonderful." Come on!

"Of course we celebrate." Sure.

"The best thing to do is to be happy for a spouse." Very well.

"Of course, it can also be irrelevant." That too. But now it comes: "But if you take offense at it, it's best to look for a therapist!"

This can be understood as a push to remedy the shortage of skilled workers in this field, but is more an attempt to stem the escalating grumbling about the semi-secular three-day celebration on Germany's fourth-largest island.

As private as the party is and as ridiculous as the criticism in detail, the Federal Minister of Justice knows one thing well enough: It depends.

Anyone who is a politician, even a federal finance minister, but above all: anyone who flirts with the tabloids, even opening the door a crack, has to tolerate insights.

Irrespective of this, it is legitimate to contrast the external situation and public admonitions of a public official with his behavior.

But there is hardly any reason for that here;

Christian Lindner doesn't burn tax money just because he invites the Chancellor.

And Germany is not yet sitting in the cold or under fire.

That could be a topic.

The Federal Minister of Justice knows that too.

Therefore the heaviest weapon: the call for a therapist.
