[Explanation] Qinghai Lake Huangyu, scientific name naked carp, is named after its naked body without scales.

From June to August every year, it is the migratory season of the scorpionfish. Thousands of scorpionfish gather in the estuaries that pour into the Qinghai Lake and go upstream to breed.

[Explanation] Shaliu River, Buha River, Quanji River, Jiermeng River, and Hargai River are the main rivers for Huangyu to migrate on the north bank of Qinghai Lake.

The flowing river water will stimulate the development of the gonads of the huang fish. When the gonads are mature, they will choose places with slow water flow and sandy bottoms to lay their eggs.

[Explanation] During the migratory process of Huangyu, a female fish will be followed by two or three male fish. The female fish lays eggs, the male fish excretes sperm, and then completes the fertilization process in the water.

[Same period] Xu Yongliang, captain of the first squadron of the Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Brigade of Gangcha County

Every year when the huang fish are migrating, our law enforcement brigade mainly inspects the lakes by personnel and points, and checks the upper and lower channels of various rivers to check whether there are any poached or dry-flowing places.

[Explanation] Huangyu is at the core of the food chain of Qinghai Lake and is the "staple food" of nearby migratory birds. The feces of birds will nourish the algae and microorganisms in the lake and provide food for Huangyu.

[Explanation] Since the 1980s, the Qinghai Provincial People's Government has implemented the closure of Qinghai Lake for fish breeding six times.

After 40 years of legislative protection, the Qinghai Lake naked carp resource has increased from 2,592 tons in 2002 to 108,500 tons by the end of 2021.
