The Empress attended an event called "Hatsukokoki", where the silk moth cocoons grown in the Imperial Palace were harvested for the first time.

In the imperial family, successive empresses have been raising silk moths since the Meiji era, and the empress also inherits the tradition from the empress emerita.

This year, four types of silk moths such as the domestic "Koishimaru" are grown, and on the evening of the 11th, the cocoons that the silk moths made for the first time at the breeding facility in the Imperial Palace are called "Mabushi", which specializes in making cocoons. It was taken out of the instrument.

The Empress was told by the staff in charge that it was difficult to take care of her because of the high humidity, and she said, "It would be difficult to keep it in such an environment."

When she picked up the cocoon, she said, "It's like cotton candy," and she smiled while enjoying the smooth growth.

This year's "First Cocoon Scratch" was originally scheduled for the 8th of this month, but the Imperial Household Agency canceled it because the Empress's waist was a little sick.
