From Yannick Jadot to Jean-Luc Mélenchon via Philippe Poutou and Nathalie Arthaud, several 2022 presidential candidates promised, if elected, to put an end to intensive farming... But until real measures are taken in this sense, citizens continue to speak out against oversized breeding structures.

Like the Tarn village of Lescout, headwind against the extension of a "farm-factory" of chickens.

An agriculture “of animal malaise and junk food”

Even if the initiative, very local, will have little impact, it mobilizes (almost) all the local residents: "There is an industrial farm which is growing while concerns about the health of children persist and the State does not hear us, regrets Jérémy Vialelle, farmer and neighbor of the "farm-factory" ”.

An assertion to which adheres Maëlys Clair, agricultural employee: “The breeding produces odors.

And there are, twice a day, huge clouds.

Me, I'm afraid that my daughter will suffer this, that she will fall ill, so I left to live in the village next door”.

"We are here because the agriculture we are defending is not that of animal malaise, which produces junk food, which destroys the environment and which provokes the mistrust of farmers", declares Jean-Luc Hervé, president of the Lescout collective and member of the Confédération paysanne.

Before specifying that the targeted farm "is 40 hectares and monopolizes nearly 2000 of food production, which feeds the deforestation of the Amazon, the transformation of traditional agrarian systems, which poisons the populations there".
