[Explanation] On April 7, 2022, Ye Peiying, a professor of the Voice and Song Department of the Central Conservatory of Music and a soprano singer, died in Beijing at the age of 87.
Ye Peiying was born in Malaysia and returned to China in the 1950s. The song "I Love You, China" spread all over the country.
On April 13, Ye Peiying's memorial service was held at the Babaoshan Funeral Home in Beijing.
At 10 a.m., the memorial service officially started. Ye Peiying's mourning hall was surrounded by a sea of flowers, and Ye Peiying's representative works were played on a loop in the center, surrounded by wreaths and elegiac couplets from all walks of life.
In the singing of "I Love You, China", relatives and friends came to say goodbye in plain clothes and holding white chrysanthemums.
Situ Meitang's granddaughter, Situ Yuegui, said sadly that she and Ye Peiying attended a meeting in the same car a few years ago and chatted all the way.

Even though she is such a great artist, Yelaoshr really has no airs at all.

Ding Chaoyuan, a Class of 65 alumnus, recalled to reporters how she got along with Teacher Ye 50 years ago.
She said that Ye Peiying has a warm and cheerful personality, and has high musical attainments, and is deeply loved by students.
