The entrance ceremony of "Kagawa Longevity University" was held in Takamatsu City, where people over the age of 60 in Kagawa Prefecture learn about the history and health of the area.

"Kagawa Longevity University" is offered to people aged 60 and over who live in the prefecture to participate in society through making friends and acquiring knowledge and culture. Learn about history and health.



Classes are held at two locations in the prefecture, and of these, at Takamatsu School, 128 people, including those who re-enrolled, attended the entrance ceremony because they could not fully experience learning due to the influence of the new coronavirus.

At the ceremony, Governor Hamada, who serves as the president, said, "I want you to actively engage in a wide range of activities as a leader in society based on your knowledge and experience."



At the orientation that followed, the new students were given an explanation about the activities of more than 20 clubs such as golf and cooking classes, as well as a one-year study schedule.



The Takamatsu school recruited 192 people every year, but due to the influence of the new coronavirus, it has been reduced to two-thirds from last year.



The oldest new student, an 85-year-old man, said, "I've always wanted to come, so I'm happy to be able to enroll. I want to learn a lot."
