On November 19, Mr. Tan, a citizen of Pingguo, Guangxi, who had been separated from his son for 25 years, reunited with his son Tan Xiaoming (a pseudonym) with the help of the local public security bureau.
On November 20, 1996, 3-year-old Tan Xiaoming separated from his family in Taiping Town, Pingguo County.
In the following 25 years, Mr. Tan and his relatives have not given up looking for Tan Xiaoming.
In November 2021, the Pingguo City Public Security Bureau found through a criminal science and technology comparison that Mr. Tan and Tan Xiaoming, a resident of Xingye County, Yulin City, had DNA information consistent with each other, confirming the relationship between father and son.
On November 17, Pingguo City Public Security Police went to Guangdong Province to find him and explain the situation. Tan Xiaoming was overjoyed and immediately packed his luggage and returned to Pingguo to reunite with his family who had been separated for 25 years.
