2022 World Cup: Morocco qualified in play-offs, Guinea out

The Moroccan team joined that of Senegal in the last round of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, on October 12, 2021 in Agadir.

The Moroccans secured first place in Group I by beating 4-1 a Guinea now eliminated.

Half an hour into the game, Guinean midfielder Mamadou Kané certainly equalizes with a distant strike deflected by Moroccan captain Romain Saïss (1-1, 31st).

But midfielder Selim Amallah puts Morocco back on pole by resuming a volley, a ball headed by Sofian Chakla (1-2, 43rd).

In the second period, Mohamed Bayo put the Moroccan defense in difficulty on several occasions.

Selim Amallah, however, signs a salutary double for Morocco by taking a corner delivered back.

With his strike, the ball hits the crossbar before crossing the line: 1-3, 65th.

At the very end of the game, Sofiane Boufal offered her very first selection goal and a treat: a winning acrobatic return (1-4, 90th).

With this success, the Moroccans will be able to play their last two Group I matches without pressure, against Sudan and Guinea, in November.

They who played five times at home in six games, during these qualifiers, for lack of approved stadiums in their opponents.
