Al Jalila Foundation announced that the amount of donations directed to the establishment of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Charitable Hospital for Cancer Patients has reached 300 million dirhams, and this amount is part of the total targeted investment, which is estimated at 750 million dirhams.

By the way, this great humanitarian and charitable edifice, which bears the name of the deceased of humanity and goodness, and the deceased of the homeland, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, may his soul rest in peace, is indeed a huge work, which will work to help patients with cancer, whether citizens or residents, and it will provide The treatment is free of charge for all groups who are unable to bear the burdens and expenses of treatment from this dangerous disease, and it will seek to provide the best forms of treatment and care for them, and it will become a leading medical institution for the treatment of these patients, who need superior care and support, and the hospital will make an invaluable contribution to the health care sector. In the country, and with the completion of this huge humanitarian project, the country will achieve a historic imprint, which will change the lives of many cancer patients and their families for the better.

A huge edifice, permanent and uninterrupted charitable and humanitarian work, and what has been achieved so far is an achievement worthy of thanks and appreciation to everyone who worked on it, and everyone who contributed to its establishment, but, with a quick look at the groups and partners supporting this hospital so far, we clearly see a strange note, which is the lack of There is an active participation of charities in the state, and perhaps there is a clear reluctance to make charitable contributions to this hospital in particular, and to all humanitarian and charitable projects of this kind within the state in general.

The Dar Al Ber Society is the only charitable association whose name is mentioned in the list of contributors, while the rest of the associations, whose number is estimated at dozens, have registered a complete absence from this project, which will provide its free services to the unable patients inside the country!

It is not the only absence recorded by these associations for useful charitable projects, commensurate with the nature of their charitable work within the state, but the contributions of these charitable and humanitarian associations, in general, are very modest here, while they constantly boast, and permanently announce their support for various types of Projects outside the country, and we are not surprised at all if we see large Emirati contributions to establish a hospital for the treatment of cancer diseases in many countries, at a time when these people are presented with contributions, albeit symbolic, in a similar project inside the Emirates!

It is the famous proverb “Ain Adhari”. This is what we see clearly in the way charities work. They are still working with their old vision, their traditional method, and their recurring projects.. They still care about the outside, and spend millions, even billions of dirhams in all parts of the world, while there are Many needy people live near it, and there are many humanitarian and charitable projects that need support, implemented by different bodies within the country, but they never receive the attention of these associations, even though they affect and serve different groups and large numbers of members of society!

We are not against helping people everywhere, and the UAE as a country is one of the most countries in the world in providing foreign aid, so the time has come for charities to reconsider their policies, and leave foreign aid, because it is the affair of the UAE government, and it devote itself to spending the money of benefactors from the Emirates inside UAE!
