The Wushan Mountain Range is the boundary between the second and third steps of China's topography. It is the Sichuan Basin to the west and the plains of the middle and lower Yangtze River to the east. The Yangtze River traverses it and forms the famous Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, namely Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge.
