If one relies on official statistics, the vast majority of crimes in France are perpetrated by men.

Thus 86% of murders are committed by men, as are almost all rapes (99%) or thefts with weapons (95%), a very large proportion of fatal road accidents (84%), not to mention a prison population of 96.3% male, non-exhaustive list.

Publicity

Beyond the consequences for the victims and social peace, these anti-social behaviors also have a cost for society and the State.

However, this aspect is rarely taken into account in our public policies.

How to explain this male over-representation in the crime figures?

Do we find the same statistics abroad?

Can we speak of a financial cost of virility for society?
