Nearly 6,000 people in intensive care, a positivity rate of almost 10% ... "The peak of the third wave seems behind us, but we must remain vigilant", insisted Jean Castex Thursday evening by unveiling the first stages of deconfinement while maintaining curfew.
Thursday, there were 5,981 patients in “critical care” services (resuscitation, intensive care and continuous monitoring), against 5,959 Wednesday: 22 additional cases.
In 24 hours, 478 patients were admitted to these services which treat the most serious cases, against 476 patients the day before, according to figures published by Public Health France.
For ten days, the number of patients in intensive care, very closely scrutinized, has been around this threshold of 5,900 / 6,000, still far from the peak of the first wave in April 2020 (around 7,000).
The total number of hospitalized Covid-19 patients is 30,634 patients identified Thursday against 30,954 Wednesday, or 320 fewer cases.
A total of 1,878 people have been hospitalized in the past 24 hours, against 2,095 the day before, according to the health agency.
A quarter of adults received a first injection
In terms of contamination, 34,318 new cases were recorded, against 34,968 the day before.
The positivity rate - percentage of people infected among those who are tested - remains unchanged at 9.9% (over the last seven days, consolidated at D-3).
Regarding deaths, 285 people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, for a total of 102,193 since the start of the epidemic (including 76,009 in hospital).
On the vaccination side, 13,526,306 people received at least one injection of vaccine and 5,200,790 both doses, according to the Directorate General of Health.
