Tochigi Prefecture announced on the 1st that it was found that two of the new coronavirus-infected persons confirmed so far in the prefecture were infected with the mutated virus.

According to the prefecture, two men in their thirties and twenties living in the prefecture were newly found to be infected with the mutant virus.

None of them have traveled abroad and are mildly ill.

The two had contact with different infected individuals who had already been confirmed to be infected with the mutant virus.

In each case, there was no contact with an unspecified number of people, and close contacts were also identified, so the prefecture will also test for mutant viruses in the future.

With this, a total of 6 people have been confirmed to be infected with the mutant virus in the prefecture.
