Foreign friends from the jurisdiction, public security police, street and community officials, volunteers, and community people gathered together to celebrate the Lantern Festival.

Because these foreigners are all foreigners who have left their hometowns for a long time, working, studying and living in Chengdu.

We also hope to let them feel the temperature of Chengdu and the care of our government for them by reuniting together today.

[Explanation] The Seattle boy Maoni, who has just arrived in Chengdu for a year, went straight to the "food district" and made glutinous rice balls and dumplings with Chengdu "niangniangs" (aunts).

Affected by the epidemic, although he could not be reunited with his family, staying in Rong with friends and colleagues for the New Year left a deep impression on him. He was very happy about his first Chinese New Year experience.

This is the first time I have come to China to celebrate the New Year this year.

I have lived in China for more than a year, and this year I have a special feeling, because I feel that because I cannot go back to my country to spend our Christmas.

But I have other Chinese (friends), Sichuanese (friends), and my girlfriend. We can spend the New Year together.

We make dumplings and eat together. I feel that I have my family in China and Chengdu. They invite me to dinner and teach me how to spend the New Year, so I am very happy this year.

[Explanation] Dutchman Deng Yuhui is also the first time to welcome the New Year in China.

Although he has lived in Chengdu for 6 years, he admits that due to work reasons, he has not been in close contact with traditional Chinese folk customs.

In his view, the Chinese and Western "New Year" are the same rich, but the Chinese New Year is more tender.

He felt very honored to experience it for himself.

In my memory, we will also spend "New Year's Eve" together in the Netherlands, drinking and gathering together while waiting for the arrival of 12 o'clock. Then we will set off fireworks and wish everyone a happy new year.

But there will be various activities in China, and the relationship between family members is more united and harmonious than in Europe.

We just went back to our home after a meal with our parents.

But in China, everyone spends a week or at least a few days with their family.

I think this is also the biggest difference between Chinese New Year and European New Year.

We visit different relatives' homes, but most of the time we are with our family (wife and children) or friends.

And now more and more people choose not to party with their families, but to celebrate with friends.

[Explanation] Making glutinous rice balls, making dumplings, writing blessings... Chinese and foreign residents gathered together to experience traditional Chinese folk customs, and the strong "New Year" flowed in the community activity room.

Zhang Liping, deputy director of the Huiquan Road Community, said that setting up such an event also hopes that foreign friends can have a better understanding of Chinese culture, customs, etc., and bring each other closer.

Through such traditional cultural activities as making dumplings, making glutinous rice balls, and writing calligraphy, we let foreigners living in the jurisdiction feel the charm of our traditional culture.

At the same time, it is also hoped that the cultural exchanges and development between China and foreign countries can be brought closer to a certain extent.
