According to the RKI management report on Friday evening, the
nationwide
seven-day R-value
was
0.87
(previous day 0.85).
This means that 100 infected people theoretically infect 87 more people.
The value represents the occurrence of the infection 8 to 16 days ago.
If it is below 1 for a long time, the infection process subsides.

The city of
Schweinfurt had the
lowest seven-day incidence in Germany on Saturday
at 7.5.
This is followed by
Zweibrücken
in Rhineland-Palatinate (11.7), the district of
Neuburg-Schrobenhausen (15.4)
,
Münster (15.9), Rostock (17.2), Dithmarschen (18.0
) and the city of
Regensburg
(18 , 3) have also had a low number of new infections in the past week.
A total of 60 urban and rural districts are below the limit of 35 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week.
In the
Tirschenreuth
district
on the Bavarian-Czech border, the seven-day incidence
is the highest in Germany at
351.2
(as of Saturday).
This is followed by the administrative districts of Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge (
225.7
) and Schmalkeiden-Meiningen (
216.1
), which cross the threshold to a super hotspot with 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.
The proximity to the Czech Republic is blamed for the high incidences - the British coronavirus mutation is also on the rise there.
In the Tirschenreuth district, 30 percent of the sequenced tests showed the mutation, and 25 percent in the neighboring Wunsiedel district, said Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) on Friday.
Among commuters from the Czech Republic, 40 percent showed the mutation in Tirschenreuth, and 73 percent in Wunsiedel.
In order to prevent further spread, stationary border controls are to be introduced at the border from Saturday to Sunday.
Entry to Bavaria and Saxony is then only possible with a negative corona test.

Corona worldwide
China
reports a decrease in corona infections.
The number has fallen from twelve to eight, as the National Health Commission announced on Saturday.
These are exclusively imported cases.
In January there was the largest outbreak in the People's Republic since March 2020, which initially concentrated in the northeastern province of Hebei, which surrounds the capital Beijing.
Thereafter, the infections spread to the northeastern provinces of Heilongjiang and Jilin.
However, the data of the past few days suggest that China has got the situation under control again
