Fuqing City, Fujian Province Huaping Automobile Transportation Co., Ltd. revealed on the 29th that the company will compensate drivers' family members by more than 1.23 million yuan in accordance with relevant standards and will also pay social insurance for all drivers.
On January 25, Chen Zujun, a bus driver in Fuqing City, Fujian Province suffered a heart attack and died suddenly after stopping safely.
The company where he worked refused to identify Master Chen’s death as a work injury on the grounds that he had asked all employees to sign a “voluntary waiver of social security agreement”.
It is understood that the company once asked employees to sign a declaration of voluntary waiver of social security and gave a monthly subsidy of 500 yuan. Therefore, the party concerned could not be identified as a work injury. The company said it was willing to compensate 100,000 yuan for humanitarian reasons.
Family members raised objections to this, which aroused strong public opinion.
On the 28th, according to information from the Fuqing Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Chen Zujun was identified as a work injury.
The "Determination of Work Injury Recognition" shows that the accident injury suffered by Comrade Chen Zujun complies with the first paragraph of Article 15 of the "Work Injury Insurance Regulations" and falls within the scope of work injury recognition. It is now regarded as a work injury.
Fuqing City Transportation Bureau will ensure that the compensation is paid in time.
