[Commentary] On December 30, Beijing held a press conference on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic.
At the meeting, Pang Xinghuo, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, stated that it was initially judged that the source of the local cluster of infections in Shunyi District, Beijing, was a newly imported case of asymptomatic infection reported on December 28 (below Referred to as case 1).

The viruses in this epidemic all belong to the European family branch 2.3 of the L genotype, and are the same transmission chain. They have high homology with some virus strains discovered in Southeast Asia in November 2020, and the possibility of overseas import is high.
According to the results of epidemiological investigations and gene sequencing, it is preliminarily determined that the source of the infection of this epidemic was a newly imported case of asymptomatic infection reported on December 26 (28).
[Explanation] This local clustered epidemic in Shunyi District is a single transmission chain.
The asymptomatic infected person entered the country from Indonesia on November 26 and was a close contact with a seat on the same flight and a row of an imported case from outside Indonesia reported by Fujian Province.
After 14 days of isolation in Fujian and a negative nucleic acid test, he arrived in Beijing on December 10, where he resided in Shunyi District.

Case 1 was the source of a clustered epidemic. After arriving in Beijing, it spread to tenants in a shared house. Case 2 (a female, 29 years old), and also spread to Shunyi Hualian Supermarket employees during shopping. Case 3 (a female, 31 years old) .
Case 3 is a key case in the transmission chain. It was transmitted to Case 4 (a male, 34 years old) during the sale of clothes in a supermarket. Case 4 was the first reported confirmed case of this epidemic.
Case 3 spread to her husband Case 5 (a male, 31 years old); spread to an online ride-hailing driver while riding an online car-hailing case 6 (a male, 40 years old); during a gathering, shopping, and sharing an online car-hailing period Spread to case 7 (a female, 31 years old) and case 8 (a female, 32 years old) in the same town.
[Explanation] Since then, another 8 people who have been previously infected have been infected with the new crown pneumonia virus.

Based on the above evidence, it is preliminarily judged that the epidemic was caused by a case of asymptomatic infection imported from outside Indonesia, and subsequent cases occurred at multiple points in Shunyi District, and caused a local cluster of epidemics in Jinma Industrial Park, Shunyi District.
[Explanation] In addition, Pang Xinghuo said that according to the existing evidence-based basis, no asymptomatic infection (male, 16 years old) living in Xicheng reported on December 24 and no one who left Korea on December 23 has been found. Symptomatic infections are related to the local clustered epidemic in Shunyi District, and the source of infection is still under investigation.
