[Explanation] In an ancient garden construction company in Huangshan City, Anhui Province, woodworkers, carvers, painters... each perform their duties.

The person working at the desk in front of him is called Yu Jiafeng, a deaf and mute person. On December 20, when the reporter saw him, he was carving a work.

His "craft" belongs to the Huizhou Three Sculptures, which is a local traditional carving art with a long history and a high reputation at home and abroad.

As a woodcarver, although Yu Jiafeng has some inconveniences in communicating with people, he has changed his life through labor and wisdom, and brought his apprentice.

[Concurrent] Hu Mingming, Yu Jiafeng’s apprentice

First of all, I think his craftsmanship is very good, such as carving some details of characters, such as the eyes of the characters, the hands of the characters, some movements and expressions, and the carving is very detailed.

Then the second point I think he is a better person, he is a very hardworking, hardworking person.

[Explanation] Unlike other engravers, Yu Jiafeng's knives are filled with densely packed words.

Because he is a deaf-mute person, there are obstacles in communicating with others, so he writes on the handle of the knife when communicating with others, and over time, the handle is covered with layer after layer of writing.

[Concurrent] Hu Mingming, Yu Jiafeng’s apprentice

He usually communicates with each other like this by writing and typing on his mobile phone. Although it is a little difficult to communicate in this way, he teaches every step patiently.

There were some barriers to (communication) at the beginning, but now it has been a long time and there are almost no barriers.

[Explanation] 45-year-old Yu Jiafeng studied stone carving in Wuhu and bamboo carving in Tunxi.

In 2006, he taught himself woodcarving techniques, and in 2009 he entered a garden ancient construction company in Huangshan to become a woodcarver master.

Over the past 11 years, he has worked while enriching himself. Through his diligence, he has made woodcarving skills more adept.

[Concurrent] Yu Jiafeng’s colleague Wang Huimin

Master Yu Jiafeng has been with me for more than ten years. He used to work in the bamboo carving industry out of town. Now, for the beams in our factory, he does all the embryos processing work, and it has gradually become the backbone of our factory.

[Commentary] When asked about Yu Jiafeng’s current work and family situation, he smiled happily and wrote on the board: “Currently there are three people in the family. The 9-year-old son is in the third grade of elementary school and his studies are not bad.” “Here I feel that the job is very good, and my colleagues treat me very well..."

[Explanation] Nowadays, in his "silent world", Yu Jiahui not only uses labor and wisdom to create his own happy life, but also inherits the ancient Huizhou woodcarving skills by means of "passing and banding".
