With the Christmas restrictions in the limelight,

infections in Spain are on the rise again

Valencia (388), Andalusia (312), Castilla y León (219), Galicia (188), Madrid (174) and Aragón (173) stand out above the rest.

Of the more than 2,000 hospitalizations,

194 have required intensive care

in the same period of time and 53 in the last hours.

Therefore, the total number of patients who have entered this hospital unit since the start of the pandemic is 17,310.

Currently, there are 11,346 patients with coronavirus hospitalized in Spain, 1,964 of them in the ICU.

At the European level,

Spain remains in fifth place in the number of infections

, behind Russia, whose global number of confirmed cases grows to 2,707,945;

France, with 2,391,447;

United Kingdom, with 1,888,116;

and Italy, with 1,870,576.

Germany (1,379,238), Poland (1,147,446) and Turkey (1,052,007) continue above one million.

Italy is also the European country with the highest number of deaths (65,857), followed by the United Kingdom (64,908) and France (59,072).

Regarding the accumulated incidence of the virus in the European states that have accumulated a greater number of confirmed cases, Turkey (672) and Switzerland (667) have an index higher than 600 positives.
