Meghan Markle appeared on American television in the

CNN Heroes

show

to pay tribute to the everyday heroes who work during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Duchess of Sussex thus greeted these “discreet heroes” who came to the aid of the most deprived, in particular by bringing them something to eat.

“For many families, the impact of the pandemic has been catastrophic and too many have had to face this painful question: How am I going to put food on the table?

Nonetheless, in the face of this devastating reality, we have also seen the power of the human spirit and the remarkable ways in which communities have responded to this troubled time.

We saw good people, in our neighborhoods and in all communities come together to stand alongside hungry neighbors.

The warmth of a meal can be as comforting as a hug, especially in the absence of human contact due to social distancing rules, ”she said, as reported by ITV News.

“Tonight we celebrate these quiet heroes.

(…) They showed us all that even in the darkest times, when we are united, we have the power to remind others that there is hope and that it will be fine ”, she added.

It was Prince Harry's wife's first public intervention since she announced that she had suffered a miscarriage during the summer.
