Control the electric bicycle "road killer"

Recently, some media reported that the number of deaths caused by electric bicycle traffic accidents has risen the fastest in my country's road traffic accident deaths, and electric bicycles have become a veritable "road killer."

The safety of electric bicycles has always been a concern.

The data released by the media is even more alarming: on average, one electric bicycle cyclist died in a road traffic accident every hour, and five electric bicycle cyclists were injured in road traffic accidents.

How to control this "road killer"?

The key is to find the right grip and path.

At present, most of the electric bicycle traffic accidents are caused by the traffic violation of the parties riding electric bicycles.

Obviously, if you want to control the car, you must first control the people.

The rule of law thinking and methods must be used to form effective restraints on cyclists.

Urge riders to wear safety helmets correctly and strengthen self-protection. This is one of them.

Since April this year, the Ministry of Public Security has carried out the "One Helmet and One Belt" security protection operation nationwide, and many places have also legislated relevant regulations on wearing safety helmets.

Let electric bicycles have an "official identity" as soon as possible, and encourage cyclists to abide by traffic rules. This is the second.

At present, some cities have promoted the licensing management of "one person, one license, one vehicle, one logo", and some cities have leveraged technology to issue "smart ID cards"-Internet of Things electronic license plates for electric bicycles.

While controlling the "road killer", the relevant departments may wish to listen to the voices of the people, understand the pain points of electric bicycle riders, and provide precise public transportation solutions for different groups of people.

Only by providing people with more safe and convenient travel options, electric bicycles will not become the "first choice" in desperation.
