Three examples of works to discover in AR -

Tech @ Facebook

When it is impossible to go to cultural places, art has to come to us.

Based on this premise, Instagram launched a series of augmented reality effects this week in collaboration with Le Grand Palais, the Château de Versailles and the Galerie Perrotin.

Thanks to this technology, the application allows you to scan and admire several works without leaving your home.

Among the sculptures that you can peel, we find the statue of Moses by Michelangelo, the charioteer of Delphi, the Venus de Milo or even the Basin of Apollo.

To benefit from this new experience, all you have to do is go to the Instagram profile of each museum and tap on the “Effect” tab.

"An increasingly important role"

"Museums and cultural institutions must keep up with the times," explains Roei Amit, director in charge of digital and multimedia at the Réunion des Musées Nationaux - Grand Palais, in a press release.

Technology in general, and augmented reality more precisely, occupies a central place in our daily lives, and is therefore destined to play an increasingly important role in our institutions.

"

Enlarge, shrink, revolve around these works without anyone disturbing you, all of which are impossible to do during a visit to the museum, and which could make other institutions want to put themselves more on the virtual page.
