[Explanation] On December 11, in the receiving shaft on the south side of Chang'an Avenue in Beijing, the cutterhead of the "Zhengyang No. 2" shield machine with a diameter of 6.28 meters broke ground. The third phase of the Beijing Metro Line 8 project The double-line connection between Qianmen Station and Wangfujing Station was realized. This marked the completion of the Metro Line 8 tunnel section that runs through Beijing’s north-south central axis.

It currently runs in two sections, the northern section starts from Zhuxinzhuang Station in the north to the National Art Museum Station in the south, and the southern section is in the north.
