A new tower-type Japanese macaque facility has been set up at the zoo in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, and is gaining popularity among visitors.

At Hitachi City Kamine Zoo, the Japanese macaque facility that was built more than 50 years ago was rebuilt and opened to the public on the 10th.

Instead of the old monkey mountain, a tower-shaped playground equipment with a height of 7 meters is installed, monkeys can work on the 6-story terrace, and you can go up and down along ropes.

We could see the monkeys from various directions, and the visitors enjoyed playing with playground equipment and grooming.

A 7-year-old girl who visited with her family said, "I was happy to see it from various angles. I was looking forward to coming to the zoo."

Nobutaka Ikue, director of Hitachi City Kamine Zoo, said, "I think you can enjoy the appearance of monkeys that you couldn't see at previous facilities."
