The echo editorial staff at Swedish Radio has been hit by a major corona outbreak, something that Dagens Media was the first to report on.
About thirty employees are affected by the outbreak.
Just over ten people have tested positive for covid-19 and just under 20 people have been quarantined.
- It is clear that it is very sad that employees have become ill and that we need to put additional employees in quarantine.
It is a spread of infection in Stockholm and we have had cases here and then we have to deal with them exactly as we are supposed to do, says Klas Wolf-Watz.
It was just over two weeks ago that a person was tested positive at the editorial office.
- The first case came about two weeks ago.
We have not had any cases of employees who worked in the editorial office during this entire period, so this was the first confirmed case, says Klas Wolf-Watz.
An infection tracking work has been done and is ongoing at Ekot.
- We track down infections and let people go home to quarantine so that the infection does not spread.
When an employee has become ill with covid-19, you look 24 hours before it got symptoms and then you look at which people this person has been close to.
It decides who will be quarantined, says Klas Wolf-Watz.
