To welcome the 100th Anniversary of Chinese Archaeology and the 100th Anniversary of the Discovery of the Yangshao Site in 2021, the Public Archaeology Steering Committee of the Chinese Archaeological Society, the Henan Provincial Society of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Henan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, and the Public Archaeology Center of the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences have recently been in the birthplace of Yangshao Culture Sanmenxia City, Henan Province, co-sponsored the "Yangshao Culture Archaeological Discovery and Dissemination Seminar."

On the eve of the conference, the participating experts and scholars visited the Yangshao National Archaeological Site Park, which is under construction.

At an archaeological excavation site at the Yangshao site, archaeologists are carefully cleaning up a newly discovered pottery from the exploratory site, which is preliminarily judged to be the remains of gray pottery from the late Yangshao culture.

According to reports, the Yangshao National Archaeological Site Park has completed 70% of the construction tasks, and the work is progressing as planned.

In October 1921, with the support of the Chinese government, Swedish scholars Anderson, Yuan Fuli and other Chinese scholars carried out the first official archaeological excavation on the Yangshao Village site in Mianchi County, Sanmenxia City, Henan Province, marking the birth of Chinese archaeology. The important discovery was named "Yangshao Culture", which was the first archeological cultural name to appear in the history of modern Chinese archaeology.
