The annual "New Soba Festival" to prevent infection Yamagata Shinjo November 8th, 23:57

The annual New Soba Festival was held after taking measures to prevent the infection of the new coronavirus, such as limiting the number of visitors in Shinjo City, Yamagata Prefecture.

This new soba festival is held every year at this time of year so that you can taste the best new soba cultivated locally, and this is the 11th time.

This year, the reservation system was limited to 100 people per hour, and the event was held after thorough measures against the new coronavirus, such as temperature measurement and disinfection at the entrance.

Soba craftsmen started making soba noodles from the morning of the 8th, and due to the limitation of the number of visitors, we prepared 500 people, which is about a quarter of the average year.

And as a countermeasure against infection, I put the new soba in a plastic container with a lid and handed it to the people who made the reservation.

Many citizens and parents and children who had been waiting for this day visited the venue and enjoyed the delicious aroma and taste of Shinjo's new soba.

A local man said, "I think I was able to continue to this point because of the taste and the feelings of the region."

Takashi Komatsu, Deputy Mayor of Shinjo City, who is the executive committee chairman of the Shinjo Soba Festival, said, "We held the event with a focus on avoiding three crowds. I want you to enjoy the delicious taste of the best." I did.
