What the Covid has changed in Europe

The Covid has changed many things in Europe that seemed immutable or unthinkable.

For example the abandonment, at least temporarily, of budgetary rules.

The 750 billion euro stimulus plan financed by a common loan, which will imply a common debt of the 27 is in itself a small revolution within the European Union.

Publicity

Words like “European sovereignty” or “strategic autonomy” are no longer taboo in Brussels, which gives hope for a profound change in the Union's priorities.

Europe of health is being born on the fringes of the coronavirus, admittedly modestly.

But, the pandemic has also reinforced inequalities, the most fragile and precarious populations have become further impoverished and have become even more vulnerable to the recession.
