Chinanews.com, Hangzhou, October 13 (Qian Chenfei, Xu Rongfu, Zhang Jing) A "late" repayment, a "good faith" agreement.

Recently, a 90-year-old old man in Qiandao Lake, Hangzhou paid off his "IOU" for half a century.

At about 9:30 on October 10th, Red Cross volunteer Jiang Yifei of Chun'an County, Hangzhou drove from Qiandaohu Town to Fenshui Town, Tonglu County. The car was carrying his 91-year-old father Jiang Rongkun and 83-year-old father. Mother Fang Ruxiu.

With the help of the government and Red Cross staff of the two places, the old man finally repaid his wish after spanning half a century.

In 1964, Jiang Rongkun and his wife and children ran a cloth dyeing workshop in Wenchang Village, Wenchang Town, Chun'an County. He was smart and diligent with excellent skills. On the one hand, buying weighted bicycles, buying and delivering goods through the streets, the business is booming.

In 1965, Chun'an popularized wearing grass yellow and grass green clothes. For a time, the supply of grass yellow and grass green cloths exceeded demand.

Jiang Rongkun asked someone to buy professional books. After continuous matching and trial and error, his dyeing workshop became one of the two dyeing workshops that contracted all local grass yellow and grass green fabrics, and the dyeing wages also doubled.

With more on hand, Jiang Rongkun decided to build a warm home for himself and his family.

The couple used a two-wheeled vehicle to pull yellow mud, wood, and tiles during the day, and at night they used the moonlight to carry stones in the stream and spent more than 600 yuan to build a new house.

Jiang Rongkun recalled that dyes first met state-owned and collective dyeing factories, and self-employed people could only allocate a little bit. When their family bid farewell to the work shed and moved into a new house, the dyes for dyeing fabrics were in short supply.

"I thought of Yang Yongxiang, a good friend who worked in the Tonglu County Dyestuff Factory, and asked him for help. Yang Yongxiang bought 5 catties of dye for me, with a total payment of 20 yuan, which relieved my urgent need."

Later, Jiang Rongkun moved his family from Wenchang to Anhui Province. At first, due to economic difficulties, he would not be able to pay back for a while. As time went on, the two gradually lost contact.

Although decades have passed, Jiang Rongkun has never forgotten this matter, "Being a person requires a sense of justice, a kind heart, a person who is not dead, and the account is not bad. The biggest wish of my life is to find a way to find Lao Yang. Or his family will pay off the 20 yuan dye payment."

This wish spanning more than half a century saw hope in an accidental opportunity.

While sorting out old books, Jiang Rongkun found Yang Yongxiang's home address-Fenshui Town, Tonglu County.

Looking for the Red Cross Society of Chun'an County and telling my wishes... With the help of the staff, the first registered letter sent to Fenshui Town, Tonglu County was sent on September 23, 2020.

The reply came quickly: Yang Yongxiang passed away 4 years ago, but his lover, 81-year-old Lu Xiuzhen and his children live in the local Shepi Mountain.

After half a century, goodbye are all white on the temples. Jiang Rongkun gave 1,000 yuan and Qiandao Lake specialty organic fish as a sign of his heart. Lu Xiuzhen also rebated red envelopes and his own tea. The two agreed that they would come and go often in the future.
