A Russian mother offers her baby for sale to buy shoes

A Russian woman offered her infant daughter for sale on the black market for 3,000 pounds to buy new shoes.

Luisa Gadzhieva said she was looking for adoptive parents, but was caught in a deceptive operation, in which policemen pretended to be potential buyers.

Gadzhiyeva told the buyer that she wanted the cash to pay off the mortgage, as she received the money, after she delivered the child to the buyer in a downtown café, according to police officers.

Police officers detained the woman after she delivered the baby girl in a cafe in the center of the capital, Moscow.
