  Affected by the continuous heavy rainfall in the Sichuan Basin, the Yangtze River will form the No. 5 flood in 2020, and the Jialing River will form the No. 2 flood in 2020. This is the largest flood of the major rivers in Chongqing after flooding this year, and it is also a rare major flood in the history of the Chongqing section of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River. flood. In response to this round of floods, Chongqing initiated a flood control level I emergency response on August 18 and entered an emergency flood control period. This is the first level of emergency response to flood prevention in Chongqing since records.

  According to the survey and report of the Chongqing Hydrological Department, at 8 o'clock on August 22, the water levels at Cuntan Station, Caiyuanba Station, Chaotianmen Station on the Yangtze River, Ciqikou Station on the Jialing River and other stations all fell below the warning water level.   The Chongqing Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters (Chongqing Municipal Emergency Bureau) stated that since the impact of the disaster has not been completely eliminated, the Chongqing Municipal Prevention Guidance (Municipal Emergency Bureau) organized a professional consultation and decided that from 17:00 on August 22, flood control will be level I.
