Needles in strawberries ... Crisis looms again in Australia, and police are investigating

Police in the Australian state of Queensland are investigating allegations of needles found in strawberries purchased from a large supermarket, local media reported on Friday.

A man claimed to have found two needles in a strawberry that he was cutting for his daughter's school lunch.

It is noteworthy that in 2018, Australia was hit by contamination of the needles inside strawberries purchased from supermarkets across the country.

The man reported to the Woolworths supermarket near Brisbane, where he had bought the two baskets on Wednesday, and the store promptly removed all the strawberries from its shelves.

In a statement to Australian Channel Seven, Woolworths said it was assisting the police. The store checked all its other baskets, but found no needles.
