On August 21, 1935, the songwriter Yuri Entin was born in Moscow. He graduated from the Pedagogical Institute and worked as a history teacher for a year, and then began a creative career. In 1962, Entin became the head of the children's edition of the legendary Melodiya company, a monopolist in the field of releasing music records in the USSR. For several years he worked with the works of other authors, and from the late 1960s he began to write lyrics for songs himself. To date, Entin is the author of lyrics for more than 600 compositions that have sounded in famous Soviet cartoons and films.
