On April 21, 1996, he was retaliated by 4 knives for saving two girls who were molested by hooligans. After that, the two girls disappeared, and the person who injured him was not caught.
Relevant judicial materials also show that on the day of the incident, Zhang Jie stopped the man who molested the girl in Shuntian Building, Daliang Road, Kaifeng City, and asked the girl to leave, and was subsequently stabbed by the man. After the injury, he was sent to the current First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University to be hospitalized for 11 days at a cost of 1195 yuan. He was diagnosed with stab wounds to his right shoulder and left lower limb and hemorrhagic shock.

But after a long time, apart from the wounds on his body, no one could prove that he was righteous. Some people think that he is not the one who can fight the gangsters at critical moments, saying that he made up stories to deceive people. Colleagues often make fun of his wounds and laugh at him. Even his father began to wonder, "Is it righteous, or fighting with gangsters?"
Last year, by chance, Zhang Jie learned of the whereabouts of one of the rescued girls, Niu Xuna. He found each other, but Niu Mouna did not respond or thank. Angrily, he took the other party to court. The initial appeal was for Niu Muna to say "sorry, thank you" to him, and finally changed to a more specific "payment of compensation of 10 yuan" as required by the court.
In June of this year, he won the case.

They didn't know the situation until they were prosecuted in the court. Mr. Niu said that if the situation back then was true, they would all thank Zhang Jie. At the same time, they also recognized the court's judgment and have transferred the 10 yuan compensation to the corresponding bank account.
Zhang Jie said that Niu Muna was a mentally ill person and he only learned about it later. Zhang Jie said that Niu Muna can live normally, take the bus alone or go to a restaurant to eat, and the mental illness-related certificate was only applied for in 2009. She had married and had children before.

On the afternoon of April 21, 1996, I was on night shift. During the day break, I often went to the area of Daliang Road in Kaifeng City to play. When I reached the second floor of the Shuntian Building, a girl hurriedly ran to me and said, She and her companions were harassed by a group of hooligans and were not allowed to leave. The girl asked me to help them. At the time, I didn't know what was going on, so I asked, "Where is it?" She said, "You follow me."

The scene of the crime was a disco ballroom. When I reached the gate, I saw a few men beating a girl, some people pinched her neck, some people slapped her, and kept clamoring "kill her, kill her". I asked the girl who was beaten: "Do you know these people?" She said, "I don't know." I told the men that this is a public place and beating a girl is not appropriate. As soon as I finished speaking, they let go of their hands and the two girls took the opportunity to run away.
I stopped them from playing hooligans. They were unhappy and all came to retaliate against me. Five people surrounded me and beat me. I wanted to run out and call the police. When I ran to the stairs, I was caught by these five people. One of them can be eight feet tall. He hugs me from behind and I can't move. Another person, about 1.7 meters tall, slashed at my right shoulder, and another person took a dagger and stabbed me three times in the leg.
At that time, the blood sprayed on my neck, I thought I might be dying, but thinking of my mother, if I died, she would be sad. When I thought of this, I had energy. After hugging them hard, I threw them away, ran from the second floor to the first floor, and then ran out of the ballroom.

I know that there is a police booth about 300 meters from the Shuntian Building, and there is usually a policeman sitting there. I ran to the police booth and tried to open the door to call the police, but when I was about a foot away from the doorknob-before I could touch it-I bleeded too much and passed out. Later, I heard that the police opened the door and called a taxi to take me to the hospital for rescue.
I woke up at about 10 am the next morning, and the police from the police station recorded a confession for me and the forensic doctor made an identification. Many unknown residents at the scene of the crime came to see me in the hospital, but the two girls had never been there. They ran away when they saw me being chopped. I felt very sad.
The police told me that they can be discharged as soon as possible, and they can fully cooperate in solving the case after they are discharged. So on the 12th day of staying in the hospital, on May 2, the afternoon of the stitches removal, I went through the discharge procedures. In fact, the doctor said that for my injury, I must be hospitalized for at least 20 days, but I couldn't take care of that much to solve the case.
Because I was afraid that my mother would worry, I told my family that I was hit by a car. On May 3rd, my father accompanied me to the Public Security Bureau because the injury was still not healed, and he realized that I was not hit by a car, but by a gangster. After a while, I often went to the police station to ask about the situation of the case and tried to find the two girls who were rescued, but the girls seemed to disappear and the case was never solved.

Being questioned to make up a story is not just brave
I was an employee of the Kaifeng No. 1 Printing Factory at the time of the incident. After being laid off in 2001, I worked as a temporary worker in the traffic police team to repair traffic facilities. In 2006, I opened a furniture store by myself. In 2015, my mother suddenly fell ill. I had to put down my business, take her to see a doctor and take care of her daily life.
From the incident in 1996 to the present, my treatment fees have probably spent more than 20,000 yuan. Of the 4 knives that were pierced, the deepest wound was 8 cm, and the total length of the 4 knives was 14.5 cm. At that time, because of lack of medical knowledge and anxious discharge, some root causes were left behind.
Over the years, although this incident did not have much impact on my life, my legs often suffer from congestion, so I have to go for acupuncture treatment. There is still a lot of heavy physical work that I can’t do, and my legs will swell after standing for a while.
The most unbearable thing is that the case has not been solved, and no one has testified for me. Many people think that I am a lie and do not believe that I am right. Because I am usually honest and not talkative, many people think that I am not the kind of brave person who can fight criminals at critical moments.
At that time, I was working in a printing factory, and I returned to the factory’s bathhouse to take a bath after work. Many colleagues would ask questions when they saw the scars on my body. At first, I would explain the origin of the scars over and over again, but I couldn’t tell which one I saved. Any information about the two girls, they started joking with this thing, thinking I made up stories. Afterwards, every time I took a bath, I either waited for them to finish before going, or I went to the bathhouse outside.
After a long time, even my father began to wonder whether I was really trying to save people or fighting with gangsters. I am very distressed. I think I have done a good thing, but it is not understood by everyone, and I am very wronged.
Over the years because of that incident, my thinking has also changed. When my daughter was 6 years old, I took her to practice taekwondo. In the future, she will be able to protect herself and not be so flustered when encountering danger.
I will also help people and do some good things, but I won't be "reckless" anymore. Once I took a car to Zhengzhou, two people came along halfway, one fat and thin, about 20 years old. One of them was holding a long thing wrapped in newspaper in his hand. The two sat in the last row like me. The car bumped and the newspaper was broken, and I spotted it as a long dagger. They rested for a few minutes, and one of them walked forward and began to steal the purse from the clothes on the cushions.
I was entangled at the time, and I didn't care about it. Seeing that the man had stolen two wallets but was still walking forward, I took my mobile phone and pretended to contact the police loudly. When the two heard that I was a policeman, they hurriedly told the driver to stop and get out of the car. After they got out of the car, I let out a sigh of relief. Sometimes it's too dangerous to be brave.
Her indifference makes me sad

Because the matter has passed for too long, the two-term police officers who have served as the contractor have left the police force. But I have always wanted to clarify this case, want to know the information of the two girls, in order to "investigate", sometimes I will use my free time to go to the crime scene, go around the streets and alleys, thinking if I am lucky I will encounter they.
Until 2018 finally got a clue. On December 24 of that year, I went to the Cross-Strait Branch of the Kaifeng Public Security Bureau again to inquire about the progress of the case. Two days later, they brought up my file again, and I cooperated to add some clues. At the end of March 2019, the cross-strait bureau asked me to watch a video of a law enforcement recorder about the girl I rescued Niu Muna.
I was very excited to see that video. After so many years of searching, I finally found it. At that time, I asked the police if they could let me see Niu Muna, but the police did not agree and said they would continue to investigate. But I couldn't help it, because I was a local and could see the approximate location of the video, so I went to find it myself.
From April to September 2019, I often went to the place where the video was shot, hoping to meet Niu Muna. One day in September, at a bus stop, I finally met her. I pushed the bike forward, and she sat at the station waiting for the car. I asked if you were Niu Mouna, she said yes, and I asked again, on the afternoon of April 21, 1996, in the afternoon of April 21, 1996, there were some men hitting you at the Shuntian Building. She said that this happened.

On October 21, 2019, I filed a complaint with the People’s Court of Jinming District, Kaifeng City. At first, my request was that I wanted Niu Muna to say "thank you" to me. Later, the court said that a specific request was needed, so I put it "Thank you" was changed to "Pay compensation of 10 yuan".
The court session was held on May 6, 2020. On June 4, the court ruled that Niu Muna should pay 10 yuan in economic compensation. For 24 years, the court helped me prove that I was righteous. It proved that on the afternoon of April 21, 1996, Niu Xuna was beaten by a gangster, and I was chopped by the gangster to save her.
I finally got rid of the burden of 24 years and I am very happy. Because I usually like to paint, I spent 60 yuan to engrave a seal.
