(Fighting against New Coronary Pneumonia) Hong Kong's catering business will resume day dining

China News Service, Hong Kong, July 30. A spokesperson for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government stated on July 30 that after reviewing the actual situation of the catering business’s implementation of the all-day suspension of dinning, the SAR government understood the inconvenience and difficulties that the measure would bring to working employees. Decided that the catering business can resume the provision of day dining services from July 31.

In view of the severity of the new crown pneumonia epidemic and considering the higher risk of infection caused by not wearing a mask when eating, the spokesperson said that catering arrangements in catering business premises must take more stringent epidemic prevention measures.

Specifically, the number of customers in the catering premises must not exceed half of the usual number of seats in the premises at any time, and no more than two people may sit at the same table; and the layout of the tables in any catering premises must ensure that any There should be a distance of at least 1.5 meters between the two tables that can be used by customers or the customers are using, or there should be partitions for effective separation.

The catering business resumes daytime dining from 5 am to 18:00. The evening market must continue to stop dining. The above measures will take effect on July 31 and will last until August 4.

The SAR government urges those responsible for catering businesses to strictly observe the above measures and also take further measures, such as arranging one-way seats as much as possible, avoiding face-to-face contact, and not arranging table services to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

The spokesman once again strongly urged that employers should try their best to allow employees to work at home, so as to reduce the chance of a large number of employees gathering at breakfast and lunch due to the possibility of contracting the virus. (Finish)
