On April 30, the Zhuhai Guangdong Hengqin Chimelong International Marine Resort was reopened, and 27 newborn Aldabra tortoises appeared in the park to meet the tourists.

It is understood that the Aldabra tortoise belongs to CITESII (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora), and its breeding in Chimelong is the first successful breeding of this species in non-tropical areas of mainland China.

At present, Zhuhai Chimelong owns 38 Aldabra giant tortoises. The oldest is over 100 years old, and the youngest is born on April 17, 2020. There are 44 eggs to be hatched, and it is estimated that the shelling time will be from mid-June to early August.

In addition, Zhuhai Chimelong Ocean Kingdom also has 9 large Sukkada tortoises and 5 small Sukkada tortoises. Among them, the small Sukkada tortoise was born last year and is currently more than half a year old.
