The British drug group AstraZeneca signed a partnership agreement with Oxford University to develop a vaccine against the Corona virus, which is being tested clinically in Britain, the two parties announced on Thursday.

Clinical trials of a possible vaccine developed by the Jenner Institute in Oxford began last week. Hundreds of people volunteered to be part of the study, which received 20 million pounds (24.7 million dollars) in funding from the British government.

"The cooperation aims to provide a possible vaccine known as Chadox-1 Enkov-19, which is being developed by the Jenner Institute and the Oxford Vaccine Group at Oxford University," said a joint statement issued by AstraZeneca and Oxford.

According to the agreement, AstraZeneca will be responsible for developing, manufacturing and distributing the vaccine worldwide.

He pointed out that information about the first stage of experiments may become available next month, pointing out that progress towards the last stage of experiments may take place in the middle of this year.
