Choosing the first name of a child, often thought through, can be an opportunity to pay tribute to a loved one. And that was exactly the idea of Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer when they called their son Gene Attell, in reference to their friend actor Dave Attell. But a few weeks before the baby's first birthday, the couple decided to turn around. They hadn't realized that the first name was a bad pun!

In fact, it was actress Claudia O'Doherty who pointed out to Amy Schumer that there was a small problem with her son's first name. "In fact, it was my mother who pointed this out to me," said the actress, who was on the show. My mom said to me, like, “Amy called her son 'genital'.” But all is well which ends well since the new first name of the little Gene fulfills the same function as the old one by paying all the same homage to Dave Attell.
