When at the end of January, the first case of coronavirus appeared in the United States, the American president assured: "Everything is under control". For a month and a half, Donald Trump minimized the threat, and local authorities in the areas affected by the epidemic alone faced the disease. In mid-March, Donald Trump finally takes stock of the extent of the pandemic, but the virus has already spread throughout the country. However, the United States is particularly ill-prepared for a health crisis of such a serious nature: unequal health coverage system, exorbitant cost of hospital care, lack of beds. In this episode, filmed for security reasons in a private place, the correspondents of French-speaking public radios return to the genesis of this crisis, and explain why America is ill-prepared to face it.
