The great Italian architect Vittorio Gregotti died, Sunday, at 92, of pneumonia contracted during the epidemic of coronavirus. Among his many achievements, we owe him in particular the cultural center of Belém, in Portugal, the University of Calabria or the great stadium of Marrakech in Morocco.

In France, the architect created the Grand Théâtre de Provence in Aix-en-Provence, but also the star operation in Strasbourg and the Costières stadium in Nîmes, where the Nîmes Olympique football club operates. It had been preferred in 1988 to 43 other candidates for the construction of this enclosure inaugurated on February 15, 1989 with the match between the team of France A 'and the Netherlands A'.

His wife also hospitalized

This same Costières stadium is now owned by the boss of Rani Assaf. The owner of the Nîmes Olympique bought it for 8 million euros from the city. He must shave it to rebuild another more modern one, in the same location, by 2025.
