According to the TMZ portal, shortly before his death, the actor was hospitalized due to skin cancer.

Throughout his career, Stuart Whitman has played more than 150 roles in films and TV shows. Among them were projects shot in different genres, but the actor brought the greatest fame to roles in Westerns.
He starred in such films as “Comancheros,” “The Longest Day,” “Aerial Adventures,” and “Mark.” For work in the latter, Whitman was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Actor category.
