  • The house of artificial intelligence was inaugurated at 1361, route des Lucioles, in Sophia Antipolis.
  • The building is a first in France.
  • Three pieces make it possible to seize this technology: the lab, the showroom and the training room.

The sound of a breaking glass resounds in the room. "It's not me," says SPooNy. This character is the virtual reception agent of the house of artificial intelligence (Mia), inaugurated in Sophia-Antipolis, at 1361, route des Lucioles. Unique in France, the structure took place in the former CNRS premises, for an amount of one million euros, invested by the department of Alpes-Maritimes.

The Lab, a place of collaboration

The first accessible space, the IA Lab is dedicated to start-ups, businesses, research and communities in order to carry out joint projects. During the inauguration, SCIC Tetris and the Alpes-Maritimes department presented their video traffic analysis system for road traffic. Still under test, this service allows, among other things, to perform vehicle counts at the entrance of a tunnel, in real time or delayed. At the same time, this technique should be used by cyclists from Grasse to document the state of the routes and to send the data collected to the administration.

AI exhibits at the showroom

With a surface area of 300 square meters, the showroom allows the general public to discover the cases of use of artificial intelligence. And professionals to watch for innovations present in the territory of the Alpes-Maritimes.

Four themes were selected: AI & health, AI & daily life, AI & art / culture / leisure and AI & territory. CityScan is one of them. The real estate service developed in Sophia-Antipolis uses AI to map air pollution. It therefore becomes possible for a buyer to know if he will be able to breathe healthy in his new neighborhood.

This is why we must establish a true ethic, ”said Charles-Ange Ginésy, president of the Alpes-Maritimes department, during the inauguration. To "inspire France and Europe", the Observatory on the technological, economic and societal impacts of artificial intelligence (Otesia) was launched last November.
